We are ecstatic that Jan van der Greef has agreed to present Nature, a sacred attraction for the 22nd Gathering. In this presentation, Jan shares his passion-driven quest for capturing the beauty of nature. His personal photographic journey is reflected in images of wonderful places and amazing animals. But, above all, his images are a reflection of his inner self and his exploration of deep emotions, feelings of flow, peace, trust, happiness, and oneness in life.

Being physically challenged by polio since the age of four, nature photography has guided Jan to moments of change, learning to accept and go beyond the limits experienced before, opening a limitless world full of photographic gifts of nature. His images, ranging from figurative to impressionistic and abstract, have evolved over time. They create a bridge between the seen and the unseen, an exploration of the feeling that goes Beyond Oneness, a story of his passion for life.

Nature has been the source of inspiration in science and photography for Jan van der Greef. His signature style in fine art nature photography—a blend of figurative, impressionistic, and abstract approaches—is highly acclaimed. The mystical images of awe and wonder reflect universal wisdom, an endless feeling of pure “being” in the rhythm of life. The images capture feelings of interconnectedness in our universe. This is the essence of both his photography as well as his scientific work. It fuels his interests in metaphysics, philosophy, and spirituality.
