Monterey Bay at nightfall, October 2007

If the 2007 Gathering of Light can be used as a “benchmark,” here is what we can expect to see at about the time we begin our first session next October. This is the view across the beach and out over Monterey Bay, with the hotel behind where the photographer is standing. This photo was taken at around 7 p.m. in the evening. The land in the distance is the Monterey peninsula, and the tip farthest to the right is called, “Lover’s Point.” It is possible to drive or cycle along the ocean from our hotel, past the Monterey wharf and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, all the way to Asilomar State Beach, which is a few miles beyond Lover’s Point. Bonnie will be delighted to provide directions for this little expedition. Whether it is a clear evening or a sunny day, it is an “inspiring” sight!
